David M. Adkins, Esquire is currently the Managing Partner of the Adkins Law Firm, PLLC.  Mr. Adkins began his legal career working as Counsel for the Employee Relations Section of the West Virginia Department of Health & Human Resources.  Mr. Adkins was responsible for managing the DHHR’s Grievance Unit and also provided legal expertise on various employment issues to top ranking DHHR officials.

 In 2005, he left employment with the State of West Virginia and joined the law firm of McQueen & Murphy, L.C.  Under the tutelage of James D. McQueen, Jr., he handled a variety of cases, specializing in the prosecution of First and Third party “bad faith” cases against insurance companies and in the defense of contractors and subcontractors in complex litigation related to the Lewisburg Wal-Mart shopping complex and the Target store at the Merritt Creek Farm Plaza complex in Barboursville, West Virginia.  Mr. Adkins also handled various personal injury cases and rendered coverage opinions to numerous insurance companies related to CGL insurance policies.
 
 Mr. Adkins subsequently left McQueen & Murphy, L.C. and joined Pullin, Fowler & Flanagan, PLLC, one of the state’s largest insurance defense firms.  Mr. Adkins assisted founding Member Gary E. Pullin in the defense of various clients, generally in complex litigation.  Mr. Adkins defended the insureds of AIG, State Farm, Safeco, Admiral, Travelers and Essex Insurance Companies in a variety of cases, ranging from simple motor vehicle accidents to complex class actions. 

 Having practiced law in a variety of settings, Mr. Adkins is now pleased to offer his legal services to the citizens and businesses of Putnam, Cabell, Kanawha, Mason and Lincoln counties.  He currently resides in Scott Depot with his wife Christina and their two dogs, Captain Jack and Sirius Black.  In his down time, he enjoys golf, white water rafting and going to football games.
